Our Story
Square One Coffee is an award-winning micro-roaster based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. We're a small, family-owned business, and we've been roasting and serving some of the highest-quality coffee in the world since 2007.
Our Why
We believe that people matter, so we do our best to respect every person involved in the process of getting coffee from the seed to your cup—from the farmers to our importers, to our roasters, to our baristas, and to our customers.
Our Coffee Philosophy
At the Farm Level
We pay premium prices for coffee (well above fair trade) and build long-term relationships as much as possible.
At the Company Level
Caring about people also means creating a safe, inclusive working environment for our staff, where they can earn a fair wage with opportunities to learn and grow in their craft.
Our Passion
Our passion for coffee and our love of people drive us to continually improve our products and our methods. Our highly skilled staff boasts several Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Certified Lead Instructors, several Barista Guild of America (BGA) Certified Baristas, and a Licensed Q-Grader.
