Accessibility

Coffee for every body.

Great coffee is for everyone. We mean that literally: every body, every ability, every way of using the web. If any part of this shop is hard for you to use, that is a problem we want to hear about, and one we will fix.

Our commitment

Built to meet WCAG 2.1 AA. Audited like we mean it.

This site is designed and built to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the widely used standard for web accessibility. We do not claim perfection, and we will not pretend a badge is the same thing as the work. What we do claim: accessibility is part of how this shop is designed, built, and reviewed, not an afterthought, and we audit continuously to keep it that way.

When an audit or a customer finds a barrier, fixing it goes on the same list as fixing the espresso machine. Near the top.

"We believe that people matter, so we do our best to respect every person involved in the process of getting coffee from the seed to your cup."

The house belief. "Every person" includes every customer, however they browse.

What we do

The practices behind the promise.

  • Keyboard first. Everything you can click, you can reach and operate with a keyboard alone: menus, the box builder, checkout, all of it.
  • Screen reader support. Semantic headings and landmarks, labeled controls, alt text on images that carry meaning, and announced status changes.
  • Readable by design. Color contrast held to the AA bar, and text that scales with your browser and system settings instead of fighting them.
  • Motion that respects you. When your device asks for reduced motion, our animations settle down and videos hold still.
  • Captions and descriptions. Where video carries information, we caption it or describe it in text nearby.
  • Continuous audits. Automated checks plus human keyboard-and-screen-reader passes, on an ongoing basis. Findings get fixed, not filed.

If something is in your way

Tell us. We will fix it, and help you order another way.

If anything on this site is hard for you to use, we will fix it. And in the meantime a real person will take your order by email or phone, at no extra cost and no penalty. "Your site would not let me check out" is all the detail we need; the page you were on helps too. We aim to respond within 2 business days.

Feedback

This page is a commitment, not a trophy.

If you use assistive technology and something here could work better for you, we genuinely want the note. Every fix that starts as one person's email ends up making the shop better for everyone. That is very Square One.
