This delicious Mexican coffee comes to us from Women Producers who are members of the CESMACH Co-op. Passionate and uninterested in the status quo, they adhere to extremely high quality standards, always working toward the perfect cup.
To create this lot, their coffees are kept separate, and we pay a price premium in an effort to support these women who, more often than not, are single parents providing for their families. In the past, these price premiums have gone towards things like the construction of vegetable gardens and women's health programs. Today, the co-op boasts 224 women who maintain farms that are 4 hectares or less on average.
The farms of CESMACH members are located in the buffer zone of El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve, which is one of the most diverse forest reserve areas in the world and contains Mesoamerica's largest cloud forest, as well as a protected natural environment for thousands of plant and animal species. All of the coffee produced here is shade-grown.
This all-day sipper delivers notes of creamy milk chocolate, bright clementine citrus, and pleasant brown sugar sweetness. It works beautifully across all brewing methods—from pour-over and drip coffee to cold brew and espresso.
