This bright, flavorful decaf undergoes the innovative sugarcane decaffeination process, preserving the coffee's natural characteristics while removing 99.9% of caffeine.
The sugarcane decaffeination process is one of the cleanest, most natural methods available. Green coffee is steamed at low pressure to open the pores, then placed in a solution of water and Ethyl Acetate (EA)—a naturally-occurring compound derived from sugarcane fermentation. The solvent bonds with chlorogenic acid salts, extracting caffeine over 8 hours through multiple solution changes. Finally, the coffee is steamed again, dried, polished, and packaged, resulting in decaf that tastes remarkably close to fully-caffeinated specialty coffee.
We taste bright notes of clementine citrus, cashew nuttiness, and sweet caramel in this washed decaf coffee.
