Dark & Stormy
All the flavor without caffeine from female producer Carolina Posada. This dark roast Colombian decaf is chocolatey and nutty with a hint of smoke and a lower acidity.
Dark & Stormy is our dark roast decaffeinated coffee from Mina Rica farm in Colombia, owned by Carolina Posada, offering those who prefer bolder, darker coffee profiles a premium decaf option that doesn't compromise on quality or flavor. Using the innovative sugarcane decaffeination process, this dark roast maintains rich chocolate and nutty characteristics while removing 99.9% of caffeine.
The sugarcane decaffeination process preserves the coffee's natural flavor profile while gently removing caffeine. Green coffee undergoes low-pressure steaming to open pores, then soaks in a water and Ethyl Acetate solution—a naturally-occurring compound derived from sugarcane fermentation. Over 8 hours with multiple solution changes, the EA bonds with chlorogenic acid salts to extract caffeine. After final steaming, drying, and polishing, the result is decaf coffee that rivals fully-caffeinated offerings in flavor complexity and quality.
We taste rich notes of chocolate, pleasant nuttiness, and caramel apple sweetness in this darker roasted decaf. Dark & Stormy delivers the full-bodied character and deeper roast notes that dark roast enthusiasts expect, proving that decaf can be both bold and delicious.
